Hi and a little help please
Hi new to the forum, but we have been lurking here for a bit. My son bought a T80 late last year to replace our old Cub. Ran ok then a service later ran badly, now in need of an engine re-build. Any recommended t80 engine re-builders out there? Any thoughts much appreciated.
Thanks
Richard

Hi Richard
Welcome aboard, just buy another engine for around £100 maybe less (some on eBay at present) a rebuild will cost more than the bikes worth. These engine are usually bullet proof so unless they have been really abused (lack of oil etc) they last forever.

Re: Hi and a little help please
Hi John, thank you for your reply. We had come to a similar conclusion as parts alone came to 200 and local shop reckoned another 150 plus to do, they were not sure as they had not done one before and hinted it could/would be more. As you say more than we we bought it for... We have been looking for an engine and there is one on eBay at the mo via a breaker but hoping to get one from an individual who knew it a little. We also don't mind buying another with a working engine but not worried about the rest of it - good or bad. The rest of ours is in good nick so a good engine would sort it. It hopefully will do a European tour so a bit of reliability would be confidence inspiring. Other option is we have a go - not first choice but maybe what is needed.
