I swapped out the knackered front brake and cable the other day. Looking through the Haynes I couldn't find anything on cable routing.

The old one was run through to the steering stem with the Speedo cable, from the few pics showing the brake cable this was wrong I believe, they show it coming out of the forward hole.
Further looking around found what I believe to be a cable guide, albeit minis rubber up near the steering lock, then it runs through the fork into the bars.
This is the routing we used, am I right ?

It runs alongside the speedo cable down the front of forks, as long as its not fouling the steering and works the brake ok it should be fine.

My Speedo cable runs down the stem, the brake is now under the plate at the front of the forks.
They both go through the cable tidy on the back of the left fork though.
