Hi, I bought an '89 T80 on Saturday and rode it 100 miles home, which was quite an experience! In a good way. Great fun.

Thanks Gaz, I've been looking for a Townmate for a while but they don't come up that often as you know. Sensible owners don't part with them I guess! So glad not to have to keep looking for sensibly priced C90s!!

The old girl runs well and has just gone through her MOT (with previous owner) with a rear tyre replacement advisory. Will sort this and some new brake shoes I reckon in the next week or so. One thing that is slightly worrying is a low speed head shake, at about 10mph or less she wobbles like a Glaswegian coming out of the pub at closing time, I suppose it's still on her original head and swingarm bearings (tho it does have replacement rear shocks, not OE). Is this wobble something they are known for?

thanks barker I'll give that a look, it could be something simple like that, it's not an issue when you're bowling along, just at really low speeds

Could be that worn rear tyre, also check that wheels are running true, but as barker says cant be too serious as it would not have passed MoT. See what its like when you put a new tyre(s) on it.
