This firm is offering new pattern Townmate seat covers for £29.99 plus postage £2.99
Problem is how do you fix it to the base, the originals are stapled, so you would need an industrial stapler.

Re: New Townmate Seat Cover
Thats nice be good to buy one as a pattern and get some made up.
Thing is its not going to be a fast moving item to do that.

Re: New Townmate Seat Cover
As I said in my original post the problem is fitting it, the base is polypropolene & therefore has to be stapled requiring an industrial stapler. Nothing worse than having a saggy seat cover through ill fitting. For not much more I got a seat recovered by a local upholsterer it did not have the ribbing or the Yamaha name, but not a problem for me as I did not want it for a show bike.

Has anyone bought one of these seat covers from eBay? If so what was quality like? How easy was it to fit & how did you attach it to the base? If you used adhesive what sort?

Re: New Townmate Seat Cover
Had this reply from Russ who supplies the covers
"You need a good quality staple gun from B&Q so you can staple the covers to the poly base
Dont try clips or adhesive it wont work
Stapling is very easy to do with the right gun"

For as little as £5 then around another £4 for some staples. You are then over £40, I can get a seat recovered locally for that, all right it wont have a pattern on it or Yamaha but it will look OK & do the job.
