Y3. Think its just a casting number (its cast in not stamped) there is also another cast number on a T80 one I have. 22K. So is a T80 head. I would think they are cast in sets of 4 & numbered 1 - 4, just a guess.

Re: t80 heads
I dont think the 'Y' number has any bearing on the matter, I have T80 engines with Y6 & Y7 heads & both run fine. As I said in a previous post these numbers I think relate to casting numbers not part numbers, & as daz says the problem is more likely camshaft & valve timing. Not sure if T50 camshaft is the same as T80, probably not as stroke is different.
Swop the camshaft over from the other head.

You have to withdraw the rocker shafts OR valves so rockers clear the cams. The rocker shafts have a threaded end which you screw an 8mm bolt into & pull out (they are behind the cam sprocket). You will need to warm up the head to enable them to slide out.

NO Its the rocker shafts (& rocker arms) you have to remove first. Best to buy a Haynes manual, its in there how to do it. If you try to pull the cam shaft out without removing these you will f**k it up.
