Hello from Bury St Edmunds

Post  Beardybiker on Sun 2 Nov - 0:35

First a confession, the Townmate T80 is not my main bike, that being one of the new Triumph 1200 Explorers.

I have two Townmates, one is special, as the previous owner was my father. Pops bought it secondhand some years ago to go on the back of his camper van. Sadly, in his 80's and blighted by prostate cancer, he is no longer able to ride (still a demon on a mobility scooter though Smile ). The second was bought last month locally, for my Son.

All being well, in July next year, My Son and I will set out from Bury St Edmunds heading for Lands End. From there to John O'Groats and back to Bury. A journey of just under 2000 miles which we hope to complete in 7 days! The aim is to raise some money for Prostate Cancer UK and McMillan Cancer Support.

The bikes have nearly finished being prepped, sponsorship etc being sorted over the next few months.

Any advice from long term owners greatly appreciated, as long as its not 'DON'T DO IT'.

TTFN

Beardy

Welcome aboard Beardy, you should have no trouble riding T80's to Lands End/ John O'Groats, a short hop for these sturdy bikes. Just give them a good service beforehand & change the oil.

I'm intrigued by the phone App, would you know which/what it is? Thanks for the vote of confidence for the bikes. I wish I had the same faith in my backside holding out. Airhawk and sheepskin over will be used, unlike my Son I dont have youth on my side!
