Front suspension bushes Empty Front suspension bushes

Hello again,

Firstly, thanks so much for the advice offered so far, and apologies for committing the cardinal forum sin of not searching first with my last query.

Thanks to the new brake cable I've a working front brake, which allowed me to uncover a symphony of clunks from inside the forks when I rock the bike on its front brake.

I dismantled the front suspension (the massive cross head screws were really easy to remove) and drove out all the bushes (using the barrel from the end of the front brake hub arm), then put them back in the other way around. This seems to have improved matters greatly.

That will hopefully do for the MOT (this Thurs), but I'd like to sort it properly in the long term. Can anyone recommend a supplier of a repair kit?

Has anyone purchased this kit?

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FRONT-FORK-ARM-REPAIR-KIT-FOR-YAMAHA-T50-T80-1983-1995-MADE-IN-JAPAN-BC32115-T-/271556353332?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts_13&hash=item3f3a051d34

Looking at buying it. Made in Japan so I imagine it would be of good quality.

Cheers, Frank.

Hi yes I fitted the same kit to mine and was perfect although I never put many miles on the bike but I would think if they where well greased from time to time you would be fine.
if you have any shipping problems I will buy them and ship down under  :d\\'-\\':

I have used these, they are OK but you need to fit the complete kit as spindle/bush sizes are slightly different to originals.

Just fitted the kit to the existing legs, seems fine, I would also like to renew the upper damper top rubber bush, but do they only come with a complete new damper. My bike was still pulling to the left when I put in some second hand suspension legs, not as bad as before but sure it's not right. So trying to refurb the existing.
Other than that it is usable, so another one on the road.
Regards
Dave

Rubber bushes only come as part of damper unit, (new ones unobtainable) they dont normally give problems, but if the inner steel bush is loose in the rubber a few turns of electrical tape will make it a tight fit.
The pulling to one side may not be related to worn bushes, maybe the forks are bent or twisted as a result of a previous accident.
