weres doris
no sign of doris today in fact it was warmish and sunny so I took the opportunity to get out on the townmate went for a wander over the south downs down hill was good fun going up was a tad slower but as most of it was on back roads it did not matter went out at ten never came home till three no rushing about but I covered near on fifty miles, one thing I noticed bike will do a indicated fifty eight down hill but forty five on the main road once saw fifty on a long stretch,
do you think it needs time to loosen up after its three year lay up

Re: weres doris
No riding yet, my T80 is stripped down to the bare bones, using lots of nitromores stripper at the moment, no rust holes but plenty of surface rust under the paint, thankfully i don't foresee any great expense, just paint, new rims and spokes and a new exhaust, all of which i already have, the rest is just elbow grease. It's going to take a while but it will be worth it. I have a restored rigid BSA B31 from 1955 to ride if i get bike cold turkey, but that doesn't go out in the rain and as you say it's always raining in this part of Britain.

Re: weres doris
NICE TO SEE YOUR KEEPING BUSY, im working on a 03 Honda xr 125 having loads of agro with the tank tap filter could not find it so ordered a tap off ebay that came still no filter ,then my neibour came up with a idea he has a camera on a wire that plugs into his phone put that down into the tank and there it was a bloody great filter fitted in side the tank, don't know how or even if it comes out but its there
I have thought of doing my t80 up respray and wot not severable times but always decided it would cost more than it was worth if you need some wheels I have a brand new set still wrapped up any photos of the bsa

Re: weres doris
Great idea with the camera, there's always a way around every problem (unless it's a seized swing arm pivot bolt). Thanks for the wheels offer but i already have new rims and spokes ready to build up. When the rain stops i'll take a couple of pics of the BSA. Nice looking Honda, back in my 20's i had a Suzuki TS125 trail bike for a bit of green lane riding, liked it so much i ended up with a Husqvarna motocrosser and entered races, too old and stiff for all that now.

Smooth roads are great. just got to avoid the potholes or you are heading for the sky. How they managed to ride these as dispatch riders during the war beggers belief what with all the bomb craters, they were heroes.

Re: weres doris
wont moan about the front suspensions on our t80 again then out to day on mine but its getting colder need some new mirrors as mine move about so I cant see behind me most of the time
what ive decided to do is get some 8 to 10 mm mirror adaptors as the thread has had it in the bar s I will glue the adaptors in place then fit ten mm mirrors as there's more choice of mirror

Re: weres doris
Well, to rub it in again, it is a lovely 30 degrees, hot and sunny in Sydney. No Doris here.
Might just take the T80 down to the beach and go for a swim in the Pacific Ocean and then might just have a gelato on the way home.

adespin even thunderspartens has time off from fighting bush fires to go to the beach ,thinking about it that's probably the safest place and the only thing that wont burn
at least you wont have to worry about wild fires in wales
just off out on the t80 again while the weather holds

Wild fires, what are those, the only fires we see in Wales are in our caves It's 12 degrees and very grey here today. Spartanman may be laughing now but we may have the last snigger, summer is on it's way for us and winter is on it's way for him
