SPEEDOMETER lighting
I have a problem with lighting of the speedometer.
It has never been changed, it is genuine.
The black plate has become gray from the sun, but I do not know if it plays a role in lighting.
It is still difficult to see the speedometer needle.
Do you have the same problem?
Is there a solution or should I replace it?

The light only shows through the white bit and the numbers, not the grey bit, no problem with mine. Have you checked that the bulb is OK and not gone black!

Yes , the lamp is ok.
The meter has enough lighting but, i can't see the indications , as you have no problem there must be something wrong, i will try to change the lamb with the old one as now i use a led one.

I dont think LED bulbs are suitable for instrument lighting. Use the origianal

Re: SPEEDOMETER lighting
A good friend gave me an idea.
If I can open the speedometer and remove the metal plate with the speed indications, it might be much more noticeable and beautiful to print in transparent plastic with backlighting.
Something like the one that shows the video below, but with a thicker plastic.

I really dont see the need for all this, the illumination of my speedo is fine as it was originally made.

Firstly, we have to find something to do now that we have retired,
and secondly, I think it will be a great upgrade.
Αnyway, when I find the way I will come back, I hope....

Re: SPEEDOMETER lighting
Recently for a different reason I opened the speedo.
By placing a 4-watt bulb behind the speed display plate I noticed it is almost transparent and the indications illuminate well.
I'm thinking of removing this metal item located around the lighting bulb
From its position
putting leds for backlighting. For example:

I'm very impressed by the recorded mileage (or Kilometreage - if that's an actual word), I wonder if that is a record!

Re: SPEEDOMETER lighting
The readings was about 10 years ago, now it is about 67000 km
But because I'm going to change the instrument panel, the new one is writing 21000 miles and it's from England.
I didn't want to make this change but the sun destroyed the plastic plate with the signs and numbers and I couldn't figure out anything special at night.
