when i bought my suzuki address i was given a f,,,,off chain and padlock anyway the padlock and chain lived in the garage for eighteen monthes after a spate of bike thefts i decided i should use my chain. well that was the plan, but when i tried to umlock the padlock the key would not even turn, so i id the usual things swore at it hit it with my hammer. i even sprayed wd 40 into it
after a day resting on the workbench the key turned but the lock would not open be for i get the angle grinder on it has anyone got a plan

Cut the old lock off with the angle grinder and buy a new lock!

Because its gone rusty inside. Locks are so cheap these days its not worth the effort to try to un-sieze it. Just cut it off and bin it.

to day i took the pad lock out of the diesel its been sitting in , put it into a carrier bag and took it with me to the motor bike work shop my mate owns with the intension of useing his anglle grinder to cut the lock off
i had the lock all set up im the vice and angle grinder plugged in when the post girl arrived , shes rather nice lookimg girl so we always have a chat to her, antway she asked why i was going to cut the chain up .so i told her the story as how its rusted up and the key wont open it any more...
Have you got the right key she asks . of course says i it was among the set that came with the padlock ,anyway to prove a point i got the keys out of the ignition of my scooter and gave it to her , she put it in the lock turned it and the bloody padlock opened , just like that
i have no idea what the other key fitted defently not my padlock
so alls well again or will be once they stop takeing the piss
