Tyres: What Price? Empty Tyres: What Price?

I may need some new tyres in the near future.

I do not want to fit with cheapo Chinese drek. I'd rather have good quality tyres that will be safe and last. How much would you expect to pay for say a Goodyear, Michelin, Dunlop tyre?

Do any of you fit them yourselves? I would have thought it best to get them done and balanced professionally.

I usually by the cheapo Tiwanese ones from Bustlers http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Honda-C50-C70-C90-Cub-C90Cub-Tyre-Pair-Tyres-2-50x17-/400662821851 The fronts seem to last 'for ever' the rears between 2500 & 3000 miles. Yes you can buy more expensive top brand like Pirelli etc but at double the price, dont know if they last twice as long though. If you want these there are plenty of on line sellers or get them locally from you local friendly motor cycle shop or tyre dealer. Bustlers also usually do a good package of two tyres tubes & rim tapes, look on their web site.

I managed to get one made by Continental for £21 inc postage in the end from someone who had bought the tyre in error. My gain!
