Odometer Query
Hi All,
Can anyone confirm if the odometer (not the speedo) reading on the Townmates is in kms or miles? All Townmates that I have seen advertised, the sellers always state miles but they are actually kms?
The reason I ask is that I filled up at 26250 and I have a quarter of a tank of fuel left and the odometer is reading 26389.
That is 139 miles or kms?
I would have to say it is kms as that equates to around 80 miles with another 20 or 30 miles left before empty.
Correct me if I am wrong.
Cheers, Frank.

The bikes sold in the UK are in miles, MPH in white with smaller Kms in yellow on the scale. I would think that Yamaha also did a Km version for other countries. I would think these would be marked in a similar way with KMs the main figures & Mph smaller. Looks like you bike has a Km speedo. The oddometer would be geared to the respective type, ie both speedo & odometer would be the same (Miles or Kms)

Re: Odometer Query
Hi John,
Thanks for the reply. I bought the T80 from the UK so it must be miles.
Going by Google maps, the distance I travel from home to work is 25.4 kms (16 miles). I left work today with the odometer reading 26389 and got home with the odometer reading 26406 which is 17. So it must be miles.
I am surprised because it looks like I am averaging 140 miles to the tank full but I thought the T80 averaged 110 - 120 mpg.

Yes 120 mpg is about average but I suppose with careful riding 140 mpg should be attainable.3hundredspartans wrote:Hi John,
