I have a T80 in very rough shape.

its a A reg bike, 0002** so early vin.

It was first registered 10th month 1983.

Is there any earlier known Townmate's ?

even has unique speedometer. its the early Japanese version, but in English.

does the age and vin make this machine more unique?

I had an 'A' reg T80 some years ago frame number 35T000260 that went for a field bike so presumed dead by now. My bike had the same speedo as the later ones but without the turn indicator warning light. As for being unique I suppose it may be of interest to a collector, but the fact that it is rough would mean it would need a fortune spending on it. Maybe if it was 000001 it would be worth saving. The engine & frame numbers were the same incidentally.

My engine and frame match, but literally the mudguard, and sides of the body work has holes from the sandblasters. very very thin metal after all the corrosion been removed.

I may put it to the back of my shed for another year!
