What modern step through would you buy to replace a Townmate. Most of the major three Honda, Suzuki & Yamaha manufacture step throughs but not in the same mould as the Townmate & Honda Cub. All are now twist & go & 110 or 125cc, with smaller scooter size wheels.

Well, all the way down here in OZ, we don't have much of a variety to choose from, from the major manufacturers so we are left with whatever there is. Yamaha Australia have the Tricity, TMax and BeeWee but the reality is, they have no idea about scooters, Kawasaki, I have not seen any here, Suzuki have the Address and Honda have the PCX 150. All have small wheels which I cannot stand. Up until 2010/2011, Honda Australia were selling the SH150i and the sh300i. To be getting myself easily to work and back I bought myself a Honda SH150i and I can say it is a superb scooter. 153cc, fuel injected, front disc, 16 inch wheels and for daily commuting, you can't beat it but unfortunately, Honda in their wisdom, stopped importing the SH into Australia back in 2011. I think it came down to our market just not being big enough for a £3,000 - £4,000 scooter. It is saturated with other cheap rubbish from China and other places. You guys in the UK are fortunate to have a much more interesting variety. So for me, I am happy with the Honda. Build quality is excellent, economy great, comfort great, speed - blows the doors off anything off the lights. :d\\'-\\': Only wish the latest model SH300i was available here. Sad

The nearest Honda equivalent in UK to the T80 would be the SH125i http://www.honda.co.uk/motorcycles/range/scooter/sh125i-2013/specifications.html but price is high at £3199
The Yamaha would be the Xenter 125 http://www.yamaha-motor.eu/uk/products/scooters/urban-mobility/xenter-125.aspx at £2999.
A dealer in Cambridge (Haywards) is offering the Yamaha NMAX 125cc at £2699 otr http://www.haywards.co.uk/scooter-commuter-specials.html Winner: MCN Scooter of the Year Award 2015
The cheapest would be the Suzuki Address 110cc https://www.suzuki-gb.co.uk/address-110/ at £1899

Been out today on the Townmate, and was thinking to myself, what it better than this, just about to trawl through the ebay adds. for a Honda Wave and a Peugeot Vox, But I won't be pressing the 'buy it now', so must be happy with the T80.
