Wanted Yamaha townmate ??

Hello dean here new to the forum anyone on here got a t80 for sale ?

Welcome to the owners club. Always worth asking on this site but otherwise keep watching ebay, Car and Classic and Autotrader. I kept an eye open for about 2 years and eventually found one on ebay which I snapped up.

No, I don't think so. I have really fallen in love with it. Went up to the Honda C90 Club ride in the Lakes the weekend before last and it was amazing. Sat at a steady 50+ mph on the M6 all the way. I had been worried that lorries might close up on me too quickly and get annoyed but there was no problem at all. They all pulled out in good time to pass me. 145 mpg on the journey home. What's not to like?
Like I say, just be patient and keep watching for one near you.

I just bought mine about 6 months.I adore it,it's my granny on two wheels.Not for sale,sorry!

Alright Andrew didn't know you went to c90 meets I might see you on one once get mine back on road . They are really good on fuel I managed get from isle of wight to Kent (home) on one tank of fuel and takes 1 1/2 tanks get from Matlock to Kent 278 miles another great reason to love them

Yes, they are a good bunch in the C90 club and welcome anyone, especially if it's a "step-through" machine. I cannot get to the Southern Softies rally later this month but hope to get to another meet-up before long.

I don't think I'll be making southen softy meet either need to do quite bit to my bike first , yeah they are really good bunch people been going to there meets for several years now. You do tend get bit friendly banter of them coming on t80 tho lol. Yeah I'm going try to make second Matlock meet later this year hopefully

yeah Andy got a townmate from isle of wight rate drive wasn't coming home without it stripped it nearly need to know to separate engine from frame looks like its the bolt on swinging arm left but felt tight bent steel back around it any ideas can't see owt on YouTube ?

Hi. Well done for your purchase.
No, don't remove the swing arm . Before you do anything I suggest you buy the Haynes manual off Amazon.
Remove the leg shield. The engine is held in place by 2 bolts to the rear but in front of the swing arm. Before you remove those bolts you will need to remove the gear lever and the left hand engine cover. Then the kickstart and exhaust /silencer along with the foot rest and brake pedal. Disconnect the electrics from the engine (behind left hand side panel). Disconnect the throttle cable and fuel pipe to carb. Gently ease back rubber gaiter round shaft drive joint. The two engine bolts can be removed once engine is supported from underneath.
You might want to remove the swing arm at a later date in order to lubricate it. The long bolt is prone to seizing in place and needs great care to remove it without damage.
Hope this all helps but please do get the Haynes manual first.
