Great little bike that'll go on and on for years. Selling as I've just bought a Harley and need to put all my time into that. If it doesn't sell I'll carry on using it.
Cheers guys

Nice bike, but I think you will struggle to get £900 for it, even restored I dont see Townmates worth more than £700, unless an exceptional mint low mileage one owner bike, & there are few of these around now. The fact you have modified it to Honda Cub electrics may deter the collector type buyer who wants an original spec bike. Why did you put it up as classified ad? surely better to have put it in the auction section starting at £100 with a reserve of £900. At least you would than get a true valuation.
If you want a classified ad better to put it on Gumtree or http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/ where its free to advertise.
ebay is essentially an auction site, & I note that classified ads rarely sell. Punters like to 'chase the rabbit. Just my personal view on things, no offense intended

Re: My Townmate is on ebay
I tried to put it on gumtree but it wouldn't let me post the ad as "something was wrong". Looked over it about 8 times and all was well even tried a different browser. Gave up in the end, you get a bigger audience through ebay. If it was an auction and i got £900 I'd have to pay ebay £90 for the privilege.
I'm open to offers but i'd rather let it sit in the garage than give it away.

Car and Classic
I have just sold one of my BMW C1s using a combination of the owners club site, Car and Classic and Gumtree. All free.
The majority of enquiries came from Gumtree and the buyer, although a current C1 owner and therefore familiar with the club site, saw it on Gumtree first. I think therefore that it's worth persevering with getting the add on Gumtree.
The price seems high to me too. I have seen a couple on Autotrader in the last two years in exceptional and totally original condition advertised for £1,100 (if I remember correctly).
You've done all the work and got 12v lighting so why not just enjoy it - and the conversations you will have from all sorts of other people.

Re: My Townmate is on ebay
Can you guys point me to a one owner minter early Townmate for around the £1100 mark? Or maybe a bike that's had a bit of a restoration and will see out another 30 years for less than £900?
You guys are giving me a headache!

Not intending to give you a headache. Checking what has sold recently on eBay I see that a very nice grey one reached just shy of £1,500 in April so, who knows, you might succeed. I wish you well.

Well done
Congratulations. That was quick. Makes me wonder what my one might fetch now.
