Wow, that seems pretty good for such a small capacity machine. There cannot be many that have achieved that.
My first one (an E reg) which I purchased in 2001 had about 36,000 on it if I remember correctly but the major problem was rust in the frame. I traded it in at our local dealership in order to get a 125 machine to take my test on. Missed it so much in the years afterwards which is why I now have another one, this time with very little rust and only 6,500 miles on the clock.

Why would it have traveled that amount of miles in Greece? I assume it was not ridden to UK

Re: 60000 miles on a T80
It was driven only in Greece until autumn of 2016.The greeks goes everywhere with bikes, especially the wheater is hot almoust all the time, comparing with UK.
My T80 is repainted and have a lot of pieces changed from being brand new in '89.The seat cover is changed. The engine is blackened by time passing.Having just 27k miles look different than mine.I know 'cause i had bikes all my life since i was 18 years old.

Wouldn't Greece Townmate's have speedo marked in kilometers? Maybe someone changed it to an mph one after it was imported to UK. Most Townmate's seem to only have around 25-40 miles on the clock, 127000 seems a bit too far. My 1991 T80 had 19000 on the clock when I bought it in 2004 so has racked up some 3000 miles per year. I used it 5 days a week to go to work. I do not cover that sort of mileage now having retired. Now down to around 950 miles per year which seems about the average use for these.

I have photocopies after the original papers and it was first time registered in Greece as new,in september 8th,1989.
I presume that about mileage based on the entire look of T80.I'm not shore,i repet that i presume.

Re: 60000 miles on a T80
60000 on my bike can be substantiated, thats the highest mileage I have ever seen for a T80, in fairness it did run on a spare engine I have for 24500 miles before replacing the original. Nothing wrong with original just wanted to try the spare engine. Original refitted with just a decoke and valve grind and has had no further work other than oil changes & tappet/cam chain adjustment, and still uses no oil. But the rest of the bike has done 60K, I do change oil in engine every 1500 miles & regrease front suspension, which I have re bushed once, and also replaced brake shoes & tyres. I would doubt that 127000 miles is achievable without very good maintenance, cant believe it would have received that sort of care in Greece .

Yes, I am really impressed with my Townmate now that I have had the chance to take it on some long runs. I will be changing oil at least every 1000 miles. Engine purrs away really sweetly on Castrol Power 1 racing engine oil (10W/40) and is not burning any. Sits on the motorway at a steady 50 and is returning 145 mpg.

Our younger son has recently returned from a holiday in Greece and could not believe how hot it was - also how anyone could do any work in those temperatures.
