New battery Empty New battery

Post  Duckrider Sun 8 Sep - 18:14

My battery has reached the end of its life.
It It holds no load  although it has a voltage of 6.5 volts and charges in just 10 minutes.
Although I use a charger / maintainer it  no longer performs properly.
Its type is YUASA 6N4-2A-4 with liquids.
Of course it's 6 volts and 4 Ah.
I found the same one in eBay and  some of them made in Taiwan

https://www.ebay.com/itm/BATTERY-YUASA-6N4-2A-4-6V-4AH-DUCATI-125-cc-SIX-DAYS-2T/264270248025?epid=8028503711&hash=item3d87bbf859:g:OSUAAOSwO~Zcpw2w

In my country it is much cheaper but it doesn't write country of origin/ And I don't understand why ...

I'm looking for a battery with the same technical specifications but MF type, and I can't find it.
I made an effort to escape the constant checking of fluid levels but I do not see it possible.
Because the motor does not have a starter to start the engine, and the battery is used for minimal circuits and power consumption,
I thought I could replace it with a UPS battery.

Do you know more about batteries in your market?
What kind of batteries do you use?

I use these from Tool Station, https://www.toolstation.com/sealed-lead-acid-battery/p94217
relatively cheap, sealed lead acid 4.5 amp hour so same capacity as the original and non spill.Cheap to buy as well. Looks the same type as you have stated.

Thank you all for your answers.

JohnW, the battery you are using is a battery for UPS, and is taller than the original.
Did you have a problem with the placement?
The life of this kind of battery is shorter or longer than the original one;

Christian 1, can you give me the link for the sealed battery?

No problem with fitting in existing battery holder, I had to pack it out with a piece of foam rubber at the front. Life seems ok I have had one in use for 4 years.
