just to say hello from France

Hello,

My name is Jean. I am French and I am 68 years old.

I restore and collect vehicles from the 50s and 60s.

A few years ago, I bought a Yamaha Townmate T80 1989. Unfortunately, it is
impossible to get the equivalent collector V5 before 2019 the reason being this
model has never been registered in France.

I will be 74 years old in 2019; therefore, I think it will be very hard for me
to wait until 2019 to drive and use this motorbike.

I would like to get a naked frame (vintage from 1983 or 1984) with or without
V5, which would allow me to restore and use the motorbike as of next year.

All propositions will be considered.

I love this model.

I dont no the French rules but could you not buy a frame and v5 off ebay ?

in France, for a bike who has never been imported, it's impossible to obtain the equivalent collector "V5" if it isn't 30years
old.

a 1983 or 1984 frame to buy should be the only one solution for help me.

i'll never found it on Ebay.co.uk, buy a complete bike, the shipping would cost me too, il live in the south of France, near Toulon :-(

Its no good as chti-biloute is looking for a 1983/4 frame, he would have to wait till 2015 to register a 1985 bike in France. & we think we are hard done by in the UK with the DVLA.

mine is complete, it's a 1989 model who come from UK, i bought some new and
used parts in Japan and on Ebay UK.

your proposition could be interesting, however, you forgot to give me the price of your bike.... :-(
the big problem isn't this one, but this of the repatriation's cost to France.
i suggest you to come inholidays in France's south (Var) with your bike in june, july or august, or before, if you want it.
i will pay you the return to your home by train, in TGV, of course :-)
