T80 Townmate only 4 miles on the clock
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1987-YAMAHA-Townmate-T80-4-MILES-like-Honda-C90-/252453341521?hash=item3ac7644951:g:WZEAAOSw9ZdXJ3mp
Pity it has some rusting on frame under seat, & also silver paint lifting on engine casing & rear drive unit.
Strange that being such a low milage bike its devoid of the Townmate decals on tool & battery box covers & swinging arm drive tube (should have 'Shaft Drive' transfer. so has some restoration work & repainting been done on it. The bit about the bike being far too nice to use as a daily ride is boll***s, its far from show condition, but should make a good daily rider.
The Norton Motors connection is a bit odd as the original Norton company at Bracebridge Street Birmingham had packed up by 1987, but name passed to Norton Villiers of Andover, so it was possibly they who bought the Townmate for evaluation. Frame number for the number crunchers is 35T032135. Does not look like there is a reserve & its only at £255 at present with 9 days to go.

Re: T80 Townmate only 4 miles on the clock
Importation of these bikes in the UK would solve the problem of rusty UK Townmates. But as the advert says the vendor will only consider a container load & I don't see any UK dealer taking a chance on moving this amount of bikes. I dont think the market is out there as most riders are not used to manual gearboxes & prefer twist & go's
There would also be the added hassle & cost of getting them registered with the DVLA in the UK.

Wasn't this on auction and destined to sell?
