air is getting out
while pottering a long one of our back roads dodging the many pot holes I thought this bike is handling all wrong, so when I got near my mates work shop I popped in for a cup of tea, and chat we checked the steering to see if it had tightened up ,that was all fine so next on the list was tyre pressure both were down to 20pounds anyway pumped them up this got me wondering how often should I check my tyre pressures ,
after a week I checked them again both were fine not lost any pressure but after a month they had lost a few pounds each now both had new inner tubes fitted last year
has any one else having this problem

Re: air is getting out
Check your valves to see if they are tight enough but I have found that unless you use heavy duty tubes the townmate goes through them like a "hot knife through butter" especially the rear.
One of the problems is the chrome steel rims that tend to get rusty on the bead and even further in where the rubber band is and that is where you get flakes of rust that are fairly sharp and have the potential to slowly cut the tube, particularly if it is a standard tube.
I've bought alloy rims for mine which are a much better option.
Frank.

HI frank weather not to hot for you. I agree about the inside of the rims , a few years a go I wire brushed and painted the inside of my rims so they should be ok ,
my cub does the same thing thinking about it now , but my car rarely loses air from the tyres
like summer here grey shy no wind and 9 degrees don't need gloves to walk to the shops today, well not in Sussex might in wales
wonder if I put puncher foam in them would that help ,or hinder

Tyre pressure check
Haynes manual suggests DAILY or pre ride tyre pressure checks. Whilst daily may be a bit ott weekly checks make good sense

I think its the poor quality, the better the tube the longer it holds air. I check my pressures every 2 weeks at least one tyre needs air
