Hi just joined today. I'm looking for a replacement carb for my 1988 T80. Does anyone have one for sale or know of someone I could try?

New carbs no longer available from Yamaha, used ones occasionally come up on eBay. Whats wrong with your existing one as they rarely give trouble?

The bike had been sat unused in previous owners garage and the bit that moves has seized. My mechanic is soaking it but he thinks is it might be too far gone so I'm trying to source a working s/h replacement. I've been scanning ebay/gumtree for a few wks and nothing yet. Will keep looking, just thought I'd see if anyone on here has spares.

If you cant get another carb it might be worth sending your seized one to Harpers http://www.harpers-ultrasonic.com/default.html who offer an ultrasonic clean & rebuild service, bit expensive (£40 to £80 quoted) But it would be like new when you got it back. A second had one from a breaker will probably be £30 plus & then not in good working order. Worth giving Harpers a ring.
