Quartz Headlamp bulbs
The ones from mildhogs are 12volt, the Townmate is a 6 volt system. Paul Goff does halogen in 6volt but 30/30 watt at a extortionate £13.50 each, the Townmate is 25/25 watt so generator will not cope & light will be dim.
JCR Supplies do the correct wattage bulb (25/25 watt) at £4.80 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/6-VOLT-MPF-T15-HEAD-LIGHT-BULB-25-25-WATT-3625H-HALOGEN-/310327599360?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item4840f76100

Re: any way yo inprove the lights
As has been mentioned a 35 watt bulb is beyond the capability of the AC lighting generator so just produces a rather yellow glow which is worse than standard. I'm using a 6 volt 25 watt halogen bulb ( ebay item 400164910070 ) and it does seem to be slightly brighter and has lasted for some time too considering it's Chinese. A clean headlamp glass also makes a difference as would a new reflector if available. I think that the halogen gas prevents deposition of filament vapour on the glass and this works for AC as well as DC.
