Indicators stopped working
Hi,
My Townmate has been sat in the garage for a while, and on the last ride all systems were working ok but on checking it today all the indicators have stopped working.
The battery is on a maintenance charger and appears ok, the lights and brake lights are all working fine.
I have had the relay off and apart (looks like the original) and given it a clean with some contact cleaner and it does seem to move (checked with the cover off) however still no indicators (all not working)?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

You need a new flasher unit https://www.wemoto.com/bikes/yamaha/t_80_townmate/83/picture/flasher_relay Note bulbs need to be 6 volt 10 watt https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/401506630694?epid=13016499981&hash=item5d7ba8fc26:g:-mIAAOSwMv9c4-iD

Re: Indicators stopped working
Hi, thanks for the reply, Spot on!, I had started to carry out some further tests and did a remote test on the flasher relay with a separate bulb holder. The relay was moving, but not doing anything. I also noticed after checking a couple of other technical threads that I had 21w bulbs which had been working ok before the failure.
I’ve changed these to 10w all ok now!
Thanks

Yes only the early bikes apparently had 21 watt bulbs. These and the flasher unit were later changed to 10 watt
