hi Guys :d\\'-\\':
My T80 "Touring model" continues to pound the tarmac, taking everything in it's stride.
Last Sunday in pretty unsettled weather I  rode in a VMCC event which took us from Darlington, Co/Durham all the way down the spine of the Pennines, south through Wensleydale, Kettlewell and over to Malham in West Yorkshire, for the lunch stop. returning North through, Grassington, Pateley Bridge, Masham, Leyburn and back to the Crown Inn near home for a well earned pint! Very Happy
Mileage was about 130 miles including a couple of unscheduled detours Shocked

The bike performed faultlessly using not much more than a tank full of fuel, bearing in mind the terrain which we passed over. Funnily enough I was not the slowest on the road as the performance, comfort and lightweight of the bike meant it was easy to maintain a good steady average speed over these routes.
If anyone wants to challenge their T80 try the road from Kettlewell over to Arncliffe and onto Malham - Brilliant ! Very Happy  try and pick a good day though. Cool
Cheers

hi :d\\'-\\':

Since the T80 run out down the spine of the country the T80 has been out and about many times and I tend to go for that bike rather than my other two as at the moment as the majority of my riding is on dales roads. Fortunately living in the North east of the UK means I am spoilt for choice.

cheers Very Happy Very Happy

I do not know the route, but I imagine 130 miles with this motorcycle seem too much.
The maximum distance I have reached is 180 km. And fuel consumption was 3.3 liters per 100 km.

I wish you always to enjoy such trips, and please as much as you wish. :d\\'-\\':

hi :d\\'-\\': Duckrider

what !!! 130 miles is nothing, all you do is take your time and enjoy the scenery Very Happy Very Happy

It is hardly worth going out unless you do 100 miles - I use my T80 as a lightweight tourer not for shopping.

hi barker :d\\'-\\':

It has a screen now as we discussed earlier (lexmotor type - ebay, not China parts -sorry) but I have never really bothered with hand guards. On my larger Honda's I usually fit heated grips though.
I must agree riding in 2'C as it is at the moment is not my idea of pleasure, but out on Boxing Day at the top of Teesdale was very pleasant about 5'C.

I have a few questions looking at the photo:

a) Steve is this set the same you use?
https://www.lexmoto.co.uk/part/SCRN008.php

If I decide to build my own, this set will help me place it;

b) How tall are you? the mirrors are at the right height so you do not see your hands looking back; Very Happy , and

c) How many litres is the top box and who is the manufacturer? fits very good with the T80.

T80 travels Empty Windscreen brackets

Post  JohnW Tue 22 Jan - 17:54

There is a drawing of the home made brackets I made for my screen in this post, you may find them a bit more substantial that the bought ones which would appear to require additional fixings https://yamahatownmatet80.forumotion.co.uk/t1033-wind-screen?highlight=Windscreen+brackets

hi Duckrider :d\\'-\\':

See my reply to you  in "T80 Windshield" , 2 weeks ago.

The Lexmoto screen came with all brackets and I needed no other fittments.

Wing mirrors are positioned Ok for me (1.8m) and came with the bike. I may change them in the future as the chrome is looking tired.

The top box (Chinese) is 24L and another ebay purchase about £20 - it is not quickly detachable ( Givi etc) which are are more expensive. There are many choices on ebay. As you say it looks OK on the T80. I have no need for a massive top box.

Cheers   :d\\'-\\':

Maybe you did not understand what i ask, i mean the WIND SCREEN FITTING KIT ( https://www.lexmoto.co.uk/part/SCRN008.php ) is the same one you use ?
And of course you bought the shield together with the set to fit it.

As for the mirrors i find this type,

https://www.mototogelos.gr/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=7630

... their price is very low but except that they are made in China, I do not know if the height is correct, the genuine ones have a black plastic cover at the point where they are placed.

hi Duckrider :d\\'-\\':

windshield fittings - at a glance they look the same.

Mirrors - look too upright to me - why not look at Bar end type that fits into the end of the handlebars ?

cheers  Very Happy
