The following pic from John Elicel Javier Tabucan‎ of Davao City, Philippines. The side stand on his bike is mounted on the swinging arm, looks a professional job but maybe a non Yamaha accessory. The Yamaha side stand is mounted on footrests. Strange stand fixing 91886110

Not sure about 'back yard job' the pressings in ribs on the clamp and general design look professional, so maybe an after market product. The pic is from a bike overseas in Philippines so maybe something that was not available in the UK. Looks well engineered

I think it would more likely be a pipe brace/joiner which happens to fit the diameter of the shaft housing.

Yes a scaffold clamp maybe, It would only fit if you cut of pillion footrest mounting, but I dont think the Philippine T50 version had these anyway. Probably a mod done by one of the many back street bike repair shops over there.

As i can see there is a center stand, but the footrest is missing.

I saw this stand before a few years at a T80 here in Greece, but i did not find the owner to ask him more info.
I only took a photo

I have seen may crazy things all these years , for example , here the owner has drilled a hole at the drive shaft housing and installed an external grease point, what I don't understand is where or how the old extra grease is removed. Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

Strange stand fixing Empty nipple !

Post  steve9e Sun 14 Jun - 10:10

hi Guys :d\\'-\\':
Good idea the grease nipple mod - as soon as the rear brake don't work you know it is time to change the grease in the bevel box - simples ! Smile

It's not such a good idea, since the old used grease needs to be replaced.
The grease gun allows us to add grease but where will the old one go?
This is good for those who lose grease from the seal and so they must necessarily fill Very Happy
