my shed smells of petrol
went into my shed last week and could smell petrol yesterday I walked in my shed to be met by the smell of petrol again only this time there was a wet patch under my t80 looks like its coming from the carb
what are the most common faults in the carb that could be the leak

Its not the carb but the petrol tap, have you may have left the petrol tap in the Prime position? If not the diaphram in the petrol tap has split/perished so not shutting petrol off. The petrol is therefore still flowing to carb. If the latter you will have to buy a new tap, the diaphram cannot be bought as a spare

How about the needle valve sticking or dodgy float?

Pull the pipe of the tap if it pours out its on prime turn the tap if it still pours out its the diaphragm if it stops its fine.

The tap is marked PRI (prime) & ON (Normal running position) tap opens when engine is running due to vacuum.
