OK folks, motoring on restoring my T50 and need a set of wheels now. On stripping the front wheel discovered a couple of rust holes through the rim so new wheels me thinks.
Question is does the Honda cub wheels fit providing the axle size is the same as these are easier to find?
Anybody had this problem before or should I just get new chrome rims laced in with new spokes, where can I buy rims?
Thanks for any help.

Its unlikely that a Honda wheel will fit as the speedo drive & brake plate anchor also has to match up. If you cant find a good T50/T80 front wheel best to get a new rim fitted. Central Wheels http://www.central-wheel.co.uk/ will do it although you should be able to find a similar company in Northern Ireland.

According to a Google search John Bell 635 Lisburn Rd Belfast BT9 7GT used to do wheel building worth a try sorry I dont have his number

Thanks mate, had my doubts but thought I'd ask in case the Townmate was a Yamaha "clone" of the cub.

Just ordered 2x 1.4x17" chrome rims for a cub and proper yamaha spoke set so will get them laced up when they arrive.
