T80 - Romania
Hello all,
Last year I got myself a shiny new to me TownMate T80 - an import from Greece. It was restored, but it looked nice, and there are no choices here in Romania so I jumped.
Had a smokey engine and will not go over 35 mph.
This year, I went to Greece in vacation and got myself a new
- 47mm piston with rings and pin,
- new cylinder and gaskets
- new OE valve seals.
Engine was rebuild as best I know, now it runs nice and does not smoke anymore, but it still not going onver 38-40 mph. I reworked the carb as it was running rich. Judging by the color of the spark plug it's running nice now, but other ideas I don't have. If I go downhill I can get 45 and engine seems to not be over revving....
Any ideas

Re: T80 - Romania
Top speed of T80 is only 45 mph with cruising speed 40 mph. So looks like its performing about right, may be better as new piston beds in.
